VA awards more than $51 million in grants to state Veterans cemeteries - This month, VA's awarded $51.3 million in grants to Arizona, Arkansas, Nebraska, New York, Louisiana, Texas, and Virginia for the establishment, expansion, and improvement of state Veterans cemeteries. These grants will help these states deliver timely and accessible burial and memorial services to Veterans. (09/29/2023)

VA national cemeteries hold National Day of Service events marking 22nd anniversary of 9/11 - Today, the Department of Veterans Affairs announced more than 60 VA national cemeteries will host National Day of Service events on September 11, 2023. These events will honor the Veterans, service members, law enforcement personnel, firefighters, and other first responders who served and sacrificed for the nation on September 11, 2001, and in the 22 years since. Kentucky Receives Grant to Expand and Improve Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West - The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Cemetery Administration (NCA) announced today that the Veterans Cemetery Grants Program (VCGP), which it oversees, has awarded a grant of up to $1,878,436 to the state of Kentucky for the expansion and improvement of Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville. Minnesota Receives Grant to Expand Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery - Little Falls - The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Cemetery Administration announced today that the Veterans Cemetery Grants Program (VCGP), which it oversees, has awarded a grant of up to $751,079 to the state of Minnesota for the expansion of Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery - Little Falls. Tennessee Receives Grant to Expand and Improve Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery - The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Cemetery Administration (NCA) announced today that the Veterans Cemetery Grants Program (VCGP), which it oversees, has awarded a grant of up to $7,167,700 to the state of Tennessee for the expansion and improvement of Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Nashville. VA awards more than $2M in grants to memorialize Veterans interred in National Cemeteries - The Department of Veterans Affairs National Cemetery Administration awards six grants totaling more than $2,187,800 as part of the Veterans Legacy Program to award funding to educational institutions and non-profit organizations. VA adds 300,000 Veterans and service members from 27 military cemeteries to Veterans Legacy Memorial - To coincide with Memorial Day weekend, the Department of Veterans Affairs National Cemetery Administration (NCA), working in collaboration with the Office of Army Cemeteries, has added more than 300,000 service members and Veterans into the Veterans Legacy Memorial (VLM) site. VA acquires land in Albuquerque for new National Cemetery - The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Cemetery Administration (NCA) announced today that it has acquired 230 acres of land in Albuquerque, NM for the future replacement of the Santa Fe National Cemetery. The VA acquired the property from UP II, LLC, a New Mexico limited liability company for $2,840,706. The new land is located adjacent to the Petroglyph National Monument, due west of Albuquerque.
